Fair question. An overlay that sits on top of your game is going to make people wonder what it's actually seeing, so let's be straight about it.
What we don't do
We don't collect personal information from your computer, whether that's your files, installed programs, running processes, or anything else sitting on the machine.
We don't listen to your mic, record your webcam, log what you're typing in LayerOP or in the game, or track your in-game actions, inventory, chat, or whatever else is happening behind the overlay.
LayerOP isn't a surveillance tool dressed up as a gaming assistant, and we're not building a profile of you or your playstyle in the background.
What we do
We take screenshots, and only for two reasons:
-
To identify which game you're playing. That's how LayerOP knows the context before you ask, and you can trigger it with the refresh button on the game badge when you switch titles.
-
When you send a question on Overpowered, and only if you choose to attach a screenshot. Sometimes the frame explains more than words, and it's optional so you can ask without sending anything visual.
That's it: a frame of your game screen when we need context, nothing else.
Why we're telling you this
Because trust matters more than feature lists. You shouldn't have to read a 40-page privacy policy to figure out whether an app is watching you, and if LayerOP is on your screen it should be obvious what it's doing and what it's not.
